Merzouga is a small Saharan village located in the South-East of the country, 35 km from Rissani, 50 km from Erfoud and 50 km from the Algerian border.

The village is close to the largest Moroccan erg : the Chebbi erg. Its impressive dunes change colour with the daylight. A night under the stars, a bivouac in Berber tent and a sunrise that shades this small Sahara in red won’t fail to impress you.

A trip in these dunes may be coupled with other discoveries in the High Atlas and the Dades and Todra Gorges.

You will be impressed by the breath-taking views the roads between Marrakech and the desert offer. After the Tichka pass you will discover the arid plateaus around Ouarzazate and enter the Anti-Atlas mountain range before entering the Draa valley.

Desert landscapes, lost oases, villages drowned in the palm groves… you will follow the Draa river that crosses South Morocco to the Atlantic Ocean. Today its waters supply a magnificent palm grove ribbon until M'Hamid before disappearing into the sand, giving birth to the most beautiful Saharan views in this area frequented by nomad camel herders.
